Even the wildlife seem thankful this morning as I enjoy self-care in my life with depression, on this Thanksgiving Day.

It is 52 degrees outside as the sun works to warm the morning. The landscape is shrouded in fog, with only hints of Parker mountain in the distance. From my vantage point on the front porch, I can hear the beating of bird wings as they come and go from the feeders. And there are a pair of squirrels working the grass around the feeder pole, munching on the sunflower seeds … [Read more...] about An Authentic Self-Care Morning, As Even the Wildlife, Seem Thankful

How to use coping statements for self-care during the holidays and avoid guilt

How will you cope with the holidays? That is a question I am asking myself. Each year presents different challenges. Many things on the list were crossed off as completed before lunchtime. So what? I just want to feel better. Feeling better is all I want. Not great, spectacular, or even above average. Simply better than I … [Read more...] about Many Things Are Going Well, So Why Do I Feel Lackluster and Dull?

I need dellf care today, no time for depression

Today is a day for self-care, there is no time for depression. My Wellbutrin 150 mg and my body seem to be OK with each other. I am six weeks into the new medicine. It has also been two weeks since I completely stopped the Prozac. The transition has been mostly seamless. But there were two days that had me catastrophizing. I was sure I was headed to the abyss. But that … [Read more...] about There’s Too Much Going on Today, No Time for Depression
