It is 52 degrees outside as the sun works to warm the morning. The landscape is shrouded in fog, with only hints of Parker mountain in the distance. From my vantage point on the front porch, I can hear the beating of bird wings as they come and go from the feeders. And there are a pair of squirrels working the grass around the feeder pole, munching on the sunflower seeds … [Read more...] about An Authentic Self-Care Morning, As Even the Wildlife, Seem Thankful

Depression makes it almost impossible for me to seek help for MDD. And as I finally begin to address it and seek out professional treatment, the paperwork and insurance have me circling the drain. Fresh out of 5 East last year, I knew very quickly that my insurance did not cover all mental health issues. I understood and accepted paying out of pocket for these expenses. … [Read more...] about Getting Help for Depression When You Have Depression

4th of July in a “This Time It Will be Different” Country

July 4, 2020 by Depression Is Not My Boss Leave a Comment

As we deal with Covid-19, we are celebrating our independence

"This time it will be different" was what I told myself about depression for over 40 years. I support free speech and the right to congregate and express grievances. Being a Baby Boomer, I have marched and chanted “make love, not war.” I know firsthand the injustices citizens can be subjected to by police and others in authority. On a day set aside to honor our saying … [Read more...] about 4th of July in a “This Time It Will be Different” Country
